Project: Fry Building
Time Scale: March 2016 – September 2017
Description:
Extension and refurbishment of the Fry Building to provide a new home for the school of mathematics, with a new landscape and urban realm design throughout and general refurbishment to the whole building.
While the intrinsic character of the Grade II listed building will be preserved, new additions will include an atrium which will link to a new 140 seat lecture theatre with a roof garden above it.
Facing south from the entrance lobby will be a new atrium leading to the southern courtyard. The atrium itself will integrate public art in the form of a brise soleil screen formed in a mathematical Voronoi diagram.
Sceptre Networking have been awarded the installation on 1302x Siemon CAT6a F/UTP Outlets across the 6 floors of the Fry Building. This project also consists of the installation of 5x 24 Core Siemon single mode OS2 loose tube fibre optic links into the lower and ground floor of the building.
